After his debacle in Denver and walking out on the Colts last year. Why would any team want McDaniels? He’s truly nothing without Brady.

Patriots OC Josh McDaniels likely to remain in New England after Packers hire Matt LaFleur

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has been a popular name among teams looking for a new head coach this season. There is speculation that he may be staying put with New England, especially now that the Green Bay Packers appear t0 have found their new head coach, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

This was the only known interview for OC Josh McDaniels, so the LaFleur hire for the likely means Josh is back in New England for another year.

McDaniels is a fantastic offensive-minded coach. He would be a great head coach if the opportunity were to be given to him. The thing keeping McDaniels with the Patriots is most likely the system and formula the Patriots work under. McDaniels has helped produce a top offense each season with quarterback Tom Brady under center, and the pressure is not on McDaniels now as it would be if he were a head coach somewhere.

McDaniels may still be looking for a job as a head coach, but for now, his focus is with the Patriots and facing off against the Los Angeles Chargers in Foxborough. McDaniels has a close bond with Brady, and the offense thrives with their current situation.

The Patriots would likely be just fine if McDaniels ventured out and got his own head coaching job. Former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia left behind a solid defense and the team produced great efficiency under new defensive coordinator Brian Flores. It’s a matter of when or if McDaniels wants to listen to offers. For now, he seems perfectly comfortable working with the Patriots under head coach Bill Belichick.
